The home of the UK's first DNA tested, GCCF registered lilacs and chocolates from New Zealand.

Thank you for taking the time to read our policy page. It really is the most important page on the whole site.

If you choose to have a kitten from us, you are asked to sign a contract stating that all of the below are acceptable. This is so we can guarantee that our kittens will be getting the life they deserve and so you can guarantee you will be getting the kitten you deserve.

Just a few questions before you read my policy please don't be offended the questions aren't aimed to look down at anyone, they are just because I love my kittens and want to make sure they are going to good homes:

  1. Can you 1000000% commit to one of my babies? My cats are very much my life, and they mean the world to me, will this be the same for you?

  2. Can you say your cat is a PET meaning you love it no matter whether it is GCCF championship winner or breeding cat extraordinaire? I sell my cats as show/breeding cats but only to people who will love them as pets and not just objects for usage. They love you if you can't win a beauty contest or have children will you show them the same love?

  3. Will you let me know how our babies are doing? Once I sell a kitten to you, I won't be able to keep up with it unless you help me and let me know how they are doing, can you do that?

  4. Does your whole family think getting this particular breed is a good idea? Remember it isn't fair on your new family member if it knows one member dislikes him/her. Dogs, cats and children have a far higher ''6th sense'' than adults so if you can get that dislike vibe, imagine how your baby feels.

  5. Have you had cats before and what happened to them? I don't mind selling cats to first time owners, I'm not about snobbery, but I want to know so that I can offer you extra guidance if you are first time owners. IF you have had dogs before, thats fine if they weren't chihuahuas again I'm here to offer guidance with your new pet but I'd like to know they were cared for and although I'm sure they were, remember these are my babies and I have to ask!

Kitten Policy

Firstly, we reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone, if we see fit.

All kittens sold as pets, show cats or breeding cats come with FULL GCCF registration papers, FULL inoculation, FREE litter bag that should get you started, FREE kitten pack (includes food, toys, paperwork, kitten booklet, help info for life).

In regards to paperwork, if a kitten is sold as a pet then the GCCF registration pink slip (which is how you transfer the cat from our name to yours) can be held back until the kittens have been neutered or spayed at around 6 months and we have proof in writing from your vet. This is to stop unscrupulous people breeding from pet kittens and just not registering with the GCCF. It is up to you the owner to request the pink slip once proof of neutering/spaying is given.

Please note: GCCF pink slips may occasionally be sent onto a customer instead of available when you collect the kitten. This is often the case as, if possible, we like to give the new owner a chance to officially name their new family member, especially if it is a breeding or show cat. You will be asked to agree to the pink slip being sent on after date of purchase. This also provides for any delays in the GCCF returning the slips to us.

We guarantee the health of the kitten for a period of 24 hours after they leave with you, however they leave with 4 weeks insurance and we are always happy to have the kitten back at any time if you are unhappy with it (a full refund would not be available, unless we saw fit).

Kittens sold as pets are £300 and breeding cats are £750 as is standard with the GCCF. The difference is in the paperwork, as breeding cats will be registered with the GCCF as active and then progeny can be registered; however, no progeny will be registered unless the cat is on the active list, rendering your kittens worthless as pedigrees, if your cat is meant to be a pet. We have known people who have tried to be smart in the past thinking they would get a pet and breeding cat as a pet.... this doesn't work and not only will the GCCF not register kittens they also inform the breeder who is then entitled to take legal action, if they see fit.

!IMPORTANT!IMPORTANT!

Please take note: We ask for a £100 deposit that will be taken out of the total cost, which is to be paid when you collect the kitten or we deliver it. Unless we have a deposit, due to the huge demand for Ragdolls, we cannot guarantee a kitten as our policy is first come first serve. If you would like to place a deposit we will add you to our waiting list, otherwise it will be impossible for us to do so. If you would like to place a deposit on kittens before they are born then this is no problem, let us know what colour and pattern you want and as soon as we get it we will let you know. However, please DO NOT place a deposit and then find something else as we will not return the deposit, it is non-refundable unless something happens, like the kittens do not survive birth or there is a mix up with colouring etc. We do fortunately usually have kittens due soon or available at the time so please contact us for more details.

We do not sell more than 2 kittens at any time. This is due to unscrupulous people who buy whole litters and sell them on for extreme prices, as food or for fur. This sounds crazy but our first litter in Jan 2005 was subject to such a person. A young man rang up and asked to sell on our cats for us we said no. 2 weeks later a different man rang up and offered us £10,000 for the whole litter. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. We asked our friends about this, they also breed, and they informed us that this is part of the business, and that these people should be reported to the police. So for this reason please don't ask for more than 2 at any one time.

Also please note that when requesting a kitten, please try to be as descriptive as you can be. For people who do not specify colour/sex/pattern we give pick of litter to those who have special requirements. Please understand that we do sell breeding/show cats and some people have a very specific idea about what they want, it would be unfair to have a kitten who was the colour/pattern/sex that another client had requested and deny them that kitten for someone who said they weren't bothered about colour or pattern. PLEASE try and have an idea of what you want, we are always available to send pictures or explain patterns if you need our help so don't hesitate to ask. We don't want anyone to miss out if they like a particular colour or pattern we usually have a litter on the way from one of the girls and will be able to advise you as to the length of the wait for the chosen colour/pattern.

Finally, we ask that any person who has a kitten from us, who finds that they are unable to keep them any longer for ANY reason, is to return them to us. This is so we can find them a good home, we don't want them going to a cat shelter etc.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

Buying a kitten is a two way thing. Although we expect all of the above from you, we know you expect a commitment from us so here's an outline of what we can offer as a baseline, however if there is ever anything else we are asked about we do our best to help:

  1. We send our kittens off with the best of everything. You get food, some litter, and as many help slips as are relevant to you. Got children? You get an advice slip on letting them play together etc. We have one for more or less every situation so ASK US.

  2. Want to view where our cats sleep? Want to see their water bowls and food? Whatever you want to see that will help convince you we are open and responsible breeders, you are more than welcome to.

  3. Would you like to speak to a professional like our vet about how we are with our animals and what kind of breeders we are? No problem we can not only give you their number but they will be more than happy to give you a reference in writing.

  4. Do you want us to prove that we know all of our cats personalities and such? Call us and ask us about every animal we have, WE KNOW our babies, and then come and meet them so they can back up what we've said.

  5. If for any reason you can't keep your kitten, we take them back and it states this in our contract, so its not just lip service. We do this so we know that our babies are safe and well looked after.

  6. We have had phone calls in the middle of the night from people who have bought a baby from us for breeding, so please if you ever EVER need to ring us, even if its because you are worried about a minor thing, PLEASE don't hesitate, we do care.

If you think of anything else you would like from us ask us. And finally please feel free to drop in anytime, good breeders have nothing to hide.

ATTENTION PLEASE!!!! Are you being struck by the current credit crunch? Unfortunately so many of us are, and here at Preziosa we believe that people shouldn't miss out on a new family member because of this, so we have come up with a scheme to help you: Please click here to view our PAYMENT SCHEME.

Stud Policy

All our stud boys are available for open stud.

ONLY TESTED RAGDOLL QUEENS are welcome, as we need to protect our boys from disease. We also ask to see a copy of the pink GCCF registration slip and a copy of the pedigree certificate. Proof must be shown of testing.

All our boys are the same price (£250), except our Lilac who is £400.

Our boys are not 'rented out', we take the queens into our luxury cat chalets. We do not expect the pick of the litter, however, if we see fit, a pick of the litter could be arranged instead of a stud fee.

Our policy holds that if the queen does not take from the mating then the owner will be offered a free re-mating. We also say that if the queen has 2 or less kittens that are born or survive then a free re-mating will be offered. We DO NOT offer cash back.

Please call 01653 699108 to find out if our boys are available.
